Driving > Disco

Well, its that time of year again. New stuff has started all over. First and foremost, my new job. I technically started on August 21st (the day before my daughter was born!) but it still feels new! Second, Football and a close second in terms of my interest (what the rest of the world calls football) Soccer. In case you are interested (I'm sure you're not), in college I'm rooting for the University of Memphis Tigers, the University of Tennessee Volunteers and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. For NFL, I guess I'm getting back into the Titans (mostly cause of Vince Young). I'm still exceptionally new to the world of soccer. Right now, I've mainly been keeping up with the English Premier League (shocker!). Since they signed Carlos Tevez, I quite like the West Ham United Hammers. I also like the Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool and I have a vested interest in the Tottenham Hotspur.

Then theres TV. I'll be the first to say that this world would probably be a lot better off without tv, but since its on....guess I'll watch. Next, I'd like to say that "reality tv" is quite possibly the worst invention in human history. I'm so tired of "reality tv." I watch tv to see sports and science and humor and whatnot...things I may not be able to see in real life (ie - reality). I dont want to see that crap on tv. I want my tv non-reality.

That being said, the new Survivor where they split everybody up has got to be the biggest step backwards in human race relations in the past 50 years or so. I think its funny how every instituion on the planet sings the praises of "global village" and everybody is one people. Then you have, I guess what has to be called the "original" reality tv show (at least the current vein of reality tv shows), that makes like a billion dollars a year, that everyone and their mom apparently watches...and they decide that it is the best forum to try to split people by the color of their skin.

Guess I've gone on more than long enough about something I don't like.
