So, the NBA wasted no time in in continuing their pursuit of erasing the Sonics from the collective memories of everyone in the country. In this episode, witness as the NBA, rather than trying to get the fans' support for the team with a "name the team" contest, decided to go ahead and register 6 possible names. I do not work for the NBA, but as far as I can surmise, the Oklahoma City professional basketball team will have one of the following names...brace yourselves:
Barons, Bison, Energy, Marshalls, Thunder and Wind
I mean...really? The Barons are really the only quasi-passable name I can see in that bunch. The rest vary between AFL (Energy?) and WNBA (WIND?!?) team names. I do not approve.

The Oklahoma Thunder and Wind? or is it The OK City Thunder or the OK City Wind?
I am not really thrilled with any of those names, and can't see myself cheering for any of them. I am just happy that football is just around the corner!
