Ok, so just in case anyone was wondering where I was for the past week, I'm back to answer. On Monday afternoon, I flew to Cleveland, OH and after a 3 hour layover, continued on to beautiful Charleston, WV. The most "northern city of the South," was very accommodating.

Our company's office (as well as my hotel) were downtown, and from my experiences of downtown in Memphis, I was more than a little worried. Once I got to town I realized that there was nothing to worry about. Located on the Kanawha river, Charleston offered a surprisingly similar climate to Memphis: humid for the majority of the time I was there (and a bit rainy).

Overall, I'd say that Charleston would be a wonderful place for a trip out of town, a long weekend or even a fully fledged vacation.
