#Music Monday - 7.27.09
Monday, July 27, 2009
Ok, so let's just pretend that the last two weeks or so of non posting did not happen and I'm totally current on keeping you informed of the minutia of my life. You know me, I could never just short you a couple of #MusicMondays without some sort of excuse involving a hospital and since I can't come up with anything that quick, here's a triple post of musical goodness. I know the fabled "three-for," is not new to you since it did occur on a previous #MusicMonday in this very space. That fact notwithstanding, I present the goods.
As usual, I can't vouch for the following acts in relation to their political views, religion, treatment of the elderly or really even their musical ability, they just happen to have caught my ear in the last week three weeks. Also, I should warn you that none of the three of them sound remotely alike or like anything that I would've given more than about a 5 second listen to, even as recently as six months ago. Hooray for expanding musical horizons!
Up first, the Starlight Mints doing "Zoomba," from their album "Change Remains."
Direct link from youtube.
Second, we have Empire of the Sun with "Walking on a dream," from the album "Walking on a dream."
They have disabled embedding (how dare they?!?) so here is the youtube link.
Finally, give it up for Art Brut doing "Moving to L.A.," from their debut album "Bang Bang Rock and Roll." This is a live version, so take it that it may not (or very well may) be their best performance.
Direct youtubery.
