A Heisman is a terrible thing to waste...

Another season of controversy in college football is slowly coming to a close. Last year, Florida making it to the national championship was enough to make me swear off watching football for about 6 months. When they won it, well, lets just say I was more than happy it was basketball season. Now, we've come full circle, and the defending national champion Florida GAYtors (while even at 9-3, I'm surprised the media did not push for them to get into the national championship game again) have produced one more reason to make me throw up in my mouth: Tim Tebow. The qb from Floriduh became the first sophmore to win the award in its 72 year history. Well, he should be arrested tonight...since he STOLE the award from Arkansas' Darren McFadden. "But Matt," you say, "Tebow had 22 rushing TDs and hes a quarterback!?!" True, but he was 74th on the FBS rushing leaderboard with 838 yards...less than half of Darren McFadden's 1725 yards. I know they'll say how TT is a quarterback and not supposed to be judged on his rushing ability. Well, then why would everyone (sports media) call him a "dual-threat" quarterback? Last year, Leak did all the heavy lifting and yard gaining, then Tebow would come in on a 3rd and 1 or 1st and goal and get the TD. I guess I can take some solace in the fact that he will never amount to anything in the NFL (see Danny Wuerffel, Rex Grossman, Jesse Palmer, Shane Matthews, Doug Johnson and, sorry, Chris Leak, for further evidence of this theory). Sadly, it is also nice to see the Heisman go to an SEC player, even if its not one of the good guys.

    Matt, I agree.

Although Tebow seems like a good Christian guy, it should have gone to D-Mac. I have always thought they should award the Heisman after the bowl games, and if they had Troy Smith would not have won it last year!

The media decided it was Tebows awhile ago!
