Well, Christmas 2007 is nearly complete. I remember a few years ago when I had what I considered an ephiphany in the realization that the transition from childhood to adulthood meant the end of good gifts: no more toys or gadgets, all replaced with clothes or food (not that theres anything wrong with that). But this year, I think I had what alcoholics refer to as a "moment of clarity." I've known for years that its not about the stuff you get for Christmas. There really is a reason for the season. I guess this year it just hit me that, beyond the birth of Jesus, family and friends really are more important than any crap you get. And yes, I know, its easy to say that when you get an Xbox360 for Christmas.
