A Tale of two Tigers...

Hot of the depressing loss of the Memphis Tigers football bowl game loss, comes the incredible victory of the Memphis Tigers basketball team over the Georgetown Hoyas. The Tigers were ranked #2 in all the land, and had a six game losing streak vs the then #4 ranked Hoyas, so definitely a game that Memphis should've won (as the higher seed), just nice to know that you can cover on your home court.
The football loss puts the Tigers at 2-2 in bowl games under the Tommy West era (which, since he has been the coach for all 4 bowl games in Memphis Tiger's history, makes it 2-2 in all of Tigers history).
The basketball win was the first home game for the Tigers in which both teams were ranked, only the 3rd game for the Tigers overall in which both teams were ranked and the first since 1995-96 season, when the #3 ranked Tigers lost to the #1 ranked UMass Minutemen...coached by one John Calipari. It also improves the Tiger's record to 10-0.
