Everybody just cool out...COOL OUT

Monday, April 07, 2008

I'm sure everyone out there is wondering why I have not posted about certain current events. Let's just say that I have resisted this long and things have gone well. Lets just all agree to not discuss anything until around 11:00pm ish CST.

I was totally gonna blame Gaines, but you beat me to it.

Actually, I blame the people in my office. We were allowed to "slum" and wear jeans and Memphis t-shirts on Monday. Then, someone was like "well, do we get to wear jeans and Memphis t-shirts tomorrow AFTER THE TIGERS WIN?" I mean, I'm not big into the whole "jinx" thing, but why take that chance? Channel 5 was the worst. Every 5 minutes they would say something along the lines of "well the tigers are just hours away from winning their first national championship." COME ON?!?

You see how it turned out...?

We were outplayed and outcoached. The best team on the floor won. Big players play big in big games

Hey, Congrats on the 45lbs also!

Hey, thanks for noticing about the 45lbs! Since my original (way back) plan was to lose weight to get in shape for basketball, I guess I can move on to phase 2: build endurance for basketball.

Give me some pointers, Memphis...what specific exercises can I do to build endurance? I can outrun anyone on the court, I just can't do it for very long...maybe something HIIT could help me with?

To build endurance... get a bike and a trainer (this way you can ride at night and watch TV) and ride, ride, ride. Tonight I covered 15 miles in 45 minutes.

HIIT training will do it also, but is really hard to do it by yourself. I think the swimmin ghas helped me if you have pool access, but it helps my breathing.

You mean a trainer like a dude to train me? Or are we talking about some piece of equipment?

I am talking about a piece of equipment. Your rear tire fits in it and you can adjust the tension. This was it turns your regular bike into a stationary bike and you can ride without being away from the family, in the rain, the cold or while watching a game!

Check out this site and it will explain it. I shopped around and got mine fro something around $65 I think.
