Come with me friend, into the wayback machine, to get a little better acquainted with the featured performer of today's episode of #MusicMonday. I'm setting the controls all the way back to April 27, 2004. The exact date that Loretta Lynn released the Grammy award winning album, "Van Lear Rose." Produced and contributed to by Jack White, of the White Stripes, "Van Lear Rose," won Best Country Album and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals in 2005. I heard this album for the first time a couple of months ago and somehow forgot to post about it, but I'm going to make it up to you right now.

"Portland Oregon," was nominated for Best Country Song, and while it didn't win the Grammy, it did manage to win a spot in my heart, as one of my new favorite songs. (Even I have to admit that was a little sappy)
