Would Ya Wednesday
Wednesday, October 14, 2009
That's right, it's time for another cheesy gimmick post that comes with an even cheesier title and recurring motif. Behold, "Would Ya Wednesday," wherein, a scenario is presented and you, humble reader, are requested, nay demanded, to answer the question. Yes or no. 1 or 2. A or B. No changing the question or modifying the answer allowed. Simply read it here, then vote in the little poll that will (hopefully) appear in the upper right hand corner shortly.
This one is sure to separate us all, along the lines of professionalism and salary, but here goes. For our first Would Ya Wednesday, the scenario is as follows. Would you be the 24/7 beck and call of a wealthy "businessman," for $100,000 a year? The terms are as follows: you are not going to be doing anything illegal or immoral, but would be required to be available to "Joe Businessman" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for whatever whim he requires of you. Fresh donuts at 3am on Christmas day? Check. Drive the limo with Joe and his friends downtown for New Years' Eve parties? Check. Come over and clean up the dead body I found in my garage? Well, that might be illegal and immoral, so we'll rephrase it. Come wash my windows on my mansion, which will take all day, on your birthday? Check. Basically, will you become a highly paid "go-fer," if the money is right.
Feel free to sound off in comments and make sure you vote in the poll.

No and I will expound my answer!
24 hours for 365 days equals 8760 hours. At $100,000, you would basically be working for $11.41 an hour, which would be a pay cut and throw off my work life balance!

I agree with Memphis - I'm not sure how much money it would take for me to do this for 365 days, but it's definitely more than $100K. Too much family sacrifice required!
