#MusicMonday - 9.28.09 - Guy Clark

Guy Clark has been around for a few years and been making great music for more than thirty. Wikipedia slots him into the country genre, although I think that label is a little restrictive. He's certainly no alt-country singing Ryan Adams, but on the other hand, he is not a Bakersfield sounding Buck Owens. I guess my point is, that just like there are many different types of "rock music," there should be a few more labels out there for the various types of country music. I guess I'm getting off onto a tangent that could be a whole other blog post, so let me not waste it.
Here is "Hemmingway's Whiskey," performed live with Verlon Thompson at The Cactus Cafe, in Austin Texas. This is from Clark's recent release "Somedays the Song Writes You."
As usual, extraneous linkage, just for you.
